1: PreliminaryPRELIMINARY LEADERSHIP Aim: To introduce Pioneers to the concept of basic leadership and develop confidence in building relationship. Pre-Requisites: 1. Completed one school term in Pioneers 2. Completed the Pre-Training Package which covers: a) Building Relationships b) Developing relationships with Cadet/Juniors including survey c) Drill 3. Pioneer Brigade Knowledge. This Course Covers: 1. Christian Leadership 2. Building and developing relationships 3. Building and developing self confidence 4. Group dynamics 5. Introduction to planning an activity 6. Knowledge of The Girls' Brigade organisation 7. Introduction to Risk Management and Duty of Care 8. Practical assessment of skills learnt Practical Work A (to be done in Company before Training) 1.Take Company "Fall In" at least twice. 2. Complete a Cadet/Junior Survey and Evaluation Sheet with at least 3 girls. 3. Complete Pioneer Brigade Knowledge. 4. Pass Uniform Check. Practical Work B (to be done during Training) 1. Participate in group and individual talks. 2. Conduct Company "Fall In". 3. Pass Brigade Knowledge Quiz. 4.Pass Uniform Check. Practical Work C (to be done in Company after Training) Lead a small group (4-5 girls) of Cadets or Juniors in an activity eg mural, frieze, collage, etc, related to an achievement which they are working on. Training Outcomes At the end of the training sessions the Pioneer will be able to: Lead a group in Drill. Confidnetly express herself in a small group situation. Demonstrate a knowledge of The Girls' Brigade organisation. Lead a craft activity with a small group considering the age and ability of the girls.
