FonomaraeFonomarae is the name given originally to Pacific Fellowship gathering of Pioneers and younger Leaders.
It is a combination of FONO - a Samoan word meaning "getting together" or "meeting" and MARAE - a Maori word for "meeting place"
Today the term Fonomarae (Fono for short) is used for gatherings of Pioneers and young Leaders Internationally and Nationally. Fonomarae's in Australia are held every two years. The last one was in Adelaide in January 2006 and the next one January 2008 will be held in Melbourne Victoria visit www.gbvic.org to find out more
